walking and knitting

Hello! How on earth is it the end of June already? We have just returned from a relaxing break in Wester Ross – surely one of the loveliest parts of Scotland?

Tom took lots of photographs of some really beautiful spaces

. . . and occasionally photographed some other things as well.

I did a lot of actual knitting . . .

as well as modelling of finished objects . . .

But we spent most of our time walking in some truly spectacular landscapes.

This was our first walking trip without Bruce, who, at the grand old age of 12, has started to struggle with steep sections and really prefers walks that don’t extend beyond 5km. Bruce spent his own relaxing holiday at my mum and dad’s.

We all missed Bruce, but he loves spending time with my mum and dad – and we definitely felt that some of our walks last week might have been bit much for him.

For example, this long yomp around the coast of Applecross, with wonderful views around the peninsula . .

I’ll try and put together a few posts in coming days about some of the Wester Ross walks we particularly enjoyed – and if you are interested in the wrap I’m wearing, it’s name is Cadadh (Gaelic for plaid cloth) and it’s available from the KDD shop or Ravelry.
