Just to let you know that sign-ups for membership of the Seven Skeins club open at noon (BST, current UK time) tomorrow, Friday September 18th in my shop.
The newsletter has now gone out, and subscribers will be receiving their 10% discount code shortly.
These things take a wee while to filter through the ether – please don’t worry if you don’t receive the newsletter immediately – it is on its way.
Other sales (of books and ribbons) will be temporarily suspended (while we deal with the club memberships), so if you would like to purchase anything else in the shop, please do so today, and we will ship orders out tomorrow.

I was actually surprised that I don’t subscribe to your newsletter (but I DO follow you on IG and twitter and WordPress). Discount or not, I got so excited about the club so I eventually subscribed anyway. Because the thought of getting yarn AND pattern AND a beautiful book seven times in the mail just thrilled me ! It’s like Xmas seven times before December! Thank you Katie. I’m looking forward to it!

I too had problems paying — I placed the order at 4:03am PDT (3 min after starting time in Scotland), and it took till 4:30am to go through. During that time, I tried multiple times (fearing I’d be charged for multiple orders); but according to the receipt from PayPal I was charged only once. I think the problem/delay was server overload (perhaps too many people were trying to pay KDDesigns at once?). I also received an email confirmation from KDDesigns, so everything is good. Whew!

I have come back and tried again but this time it left the paypal screen and went back to Kate’s order form. So either I have placed 3 orders or none! Is there any other advice? I will leave it again now and see what happens later.

I, too, had bad gateways with PayPal & also while in the midst of filling out Kate’s order form. After 2 tries I canceled out, walked away & fed the cats. Back just now, and it worked (actually got a better exchange rate this time — what’s with that?!). I’ve only seen one confirmation screen from Kate, so I hope I only placed one order.

It has happened to me too. I tried again but got he same response. I had an email from paypal saying I had had added a new address but no order confimation. Not sure how to proceed now.

I just want to point out that 12 pm in UK is 4 am in California….so a very big disadvantage for some of us.

Hi Annabel, we did try to think this through carefully – we need enough working hours to be here to be awake and able to respond to queries / issues, but didn’t want to open things so early as to disadvantage those on the far side of the US. The middle of our day seemed a good compromise, and we are sure we will have enough stock for you to be able to purchase a membership at a reasonable hour.

Kate, I live in Minnesota, central standard time, and it is 10:10pm.  You are 6 hours ahead of CST so it is 4:10am there.  I hope you are sleeping soundly but maybe not so much with all the excitement of the Seven Skeins club membership sign-ups later in the day for you. I am writing to inform you that I never received my 10% discount code.  You said it could take a while so maybe I will still receive it by tomorrow (CST) before the 6:00 am sign-up for me in Minnesota. For health reasons, I cannot be awake at 7:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. I am dying to buy this membership as a gift for a friend but am concerned that if I log in two or three hours after the sale begins you’ll be sold out.
