Dear readers,

This is not the usual voice of Needled, but rather that of Kate’s partner, Tom. I’ve unwittingly featured here several times over the past few years, though usually silently from behind the camera rather than in front of it.

I’m greatly saddened to report that Kate has been taken seriously ill and is currently in hospital. She’s asked me to let you know that she will be unable to respond to any queries or comments on her patterns at the moment. In the meantime, I hope you join me in wishing Kate a speedy and complete recovery. Hopefully she’ll be back with thought provoking words, incisive comments, beautiful pictures and great designs very soon.

    Spent yesterday in hospital with a very poorly daughter who was thankfully discharged at the end of the day. Despite the WONDERS of the NHS, hospitals are grim places and I send you both every good wish and hope that Kate will be able to recuperate at home in the very near future.
