At Reform Lane

Bruce and I took a few hours off today, and spent the morning drinking tea and eating scones with our friend Sarah. Another winner of our design competition was @gutes11 who created a joyful, simple, slouchy beanie with irregular stripes of 12 shades of Milarrochy Tweed. Patterns for all prize-winning hats will be included in a book published later this year.
What’s our West Highland Way book about? Find out more in today’s post on the KDD blog (click through link in my profile 👆) This dreamy photo of Loch Lomond is the work of @ootlier (my in-house photographer, who created all the images in the book)
All club copies have now shipped and I’m happy to say that the West Highland Way book is now on general release! The book features 13 patterns, 12 essays, and Tom’s stunning photography of the highland landscape. This is one of my favourite looks from the book, wearing the Stronachlachar cabled tee. Inspired by childhood memories of Harry Lauder, and featuring thistle tassels (no less) the delightful and original “Roamin” hat by @letissierdesigns is another winner of our West Highland Way design competition.
Our West Highland Way book has just arrived from the printer! I really think it’s the most beautiful book we’ve ever made! We can start shipping now - so club members will receive their copies soon.
Over the next few days I’ll share with you some of the prize-winning designs from our West Highland Way competition. This fantastic hat, which uses all 12 shades of our Milarrochy Tweed palette to stunning effect, was created by Sarah Baker (CeruleanSarah on Ravelry). Sarah’s hat, (together with those of other prize winners and some familiar designer faces), will be included in a book we are publishing later this year.
Today on the KDD blog I reflect on (positive) change in the hand-knitting industry and review the generous & enabling new work of @knitsonik (with a shout-out to @lucyhagueknits, @daughterofashepherd & @sweaterspotter). Link in my profile 👆
