Merry Christmas to you Kate! My favourite yule gift this year was Colours of Shetland, my husband bought it for me. It’s really lovely and I’m now trying to decide what to knit first!
Best wishes for 2013 to you all, and thanks again for the beautiful Colours of Shetland. Which to make first – I’m leaning toward the Stevenson sweater, but there are so many contenders. . .
Love your wreath, saw one last year in undyed wool, but it was too late to make one with my “wrap around pom makers”. Hope I find one like yours before next year. And, must say I do like your colors better!
Hope you had a Merry Christmas and wish you all a very Happy, Healthy New Year!
Love the wreath. Saw – on a nordic blog – presents wrapped in plain paper with a crocheted string with a pompom on either end – thought of you! Merry Christmas.
My daughter just got a pom-pom maker for Christmas — so thank you for giving me an idea of how to corral all those little fluff-balls into a gorgeous wreath!
Thank you so much for sharing such beautiful pictures! And for the amazing book I received on Christmas Eve….a great surprise as I didn’t expect it to arrive so quickly. What a treat to read the articles about Shetland, and I look forward to starting one of the fabulous designs soon. :)
Very best wishes to yourself, Tom & Bruce for 2013!

Received my beautiful book just in time for Christmas. Looking forward to making EVERYTHING!! And, what a beautiful wreath. I need complete, detailed instructions but, in the meantime, am heading out to buy my pom-pom makers. Bring it on. Much joy and happiness to you and Tom in 2013. And thank you for your beautiful designs and wonderful blog. I feel like I have visited Scotland through your wonderful pictures and descriptions.

Guess I will have to break down and get a few pom-pom makers for myself. Your wreath is beautiful. Happy New Year, and I am enjoying your book immensely, trying to decide on what I will make first. Oh, such problems we knitters have! Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours!
What a fabulous festive wreath.
I just gifted myself your new book for Christmas, and absolutely wonderful it is. Oh that Stevenson sweater…
It’s fair to say that you have mastered The Pom Pom. Your book arrived last week and it is great. I am going wool shopping very soon. I hope that you have an excellent holiday and a happy, healthy and prosperous new year. Thank you for all of your hard work.
dear kate-
i very much love your pompom addiction and the resulting wreath! i, too, have been perfecting my pompoms recently, although not with as much verve. :)
the highlight of my christmas gifts this year was a copy of your book. my mother-in-law woke up at an ungodly hour to order it straightaway (very sweet of her) and i’m so glad she did. the book is glorious and so entertaining to read. i have fully begun to save for a trip to shetland some day.
i hope you and tom and bruce had a lovely holiday celebration. take good care!
I’m so happy that Christmas is done. Now I can start knitting from your marvelous book. Yippee! Thanks for a terrific (& a bit early) start to my 2013 knitting.
Dear Kate…Have you heard from any others in the USA who ordered your book but haven’t received it yet…? The two that I ordered on December 3rd haven’t arrived as yet…
Dear Kate and Corinne
I haven’t received my copy yet – purchased on the last day of signing! Is there a way to track them? I’m in San Diego, CA and am imagining them all stuck in the snow or redirected to Houston, TX.
Happy Holidays!
Margaret
Dear Kate (& fellow waitees!),
Still haven’t received my copy either, as of 12/31. I’m in So California. Must be a clog somewhere in the States. Here’s hoping… : )
I found my book in the door on the last day of mail delivery! I love it and agree with the others who don’t know what to knit first. Just have to convince my LYS to carry Jamieson & Smith yarns…………

Merry Christmas to both of you. Kate, you have brought me so much pleasure, reading your blog, doing your patterns, learning about the Shetlands and following Bruce’s adventures. Greetings from Vancouver, Canada.
Gorgeous wreath and thank you for your wonderful book which I opened today. Can’t decide which design to make first. Happy Christmas to you and yours and every good wish for 2013.
Merry Christmas, Kate, and to your family and friends (those on two legs and four). Received your book today for Christmas, and LOVE it. Can’t decide what to do first–cast on or plan my trip to the Shetland Islands! I didn’t realize until I read your book that you spent time in the Philadelphia area where I live. Please come back and visit sometime!
What came first? The red of the door or the matching red for the pompoms? I spent Christmas Day with you and your book in the Shetlands – and with a half finished Fair Isle jumper. Merry Christmas!
Hope you had a lovely Christmas and wishing you all a happy, healthy and inspiration filled 2013!
I almost didn’t get my copy of your book as having ordered it for myself it was whisked away by my husband so he could give it to me for Christmas (cheapskate!) and then he forgot all about it and I had to ask for it!! Love all the pattern – must ask Santa for the gift of more time next year!
What a great idea!! Now, if you really don’t need those pompom makers anymore, you can send them to me, you know… I’m sure a lot of people (including myself) will replicate this beautiful wreath next year!
Merry Christmas. Lovely wreath, thanks for sharing that good idea. Thanks for the lovely blog you share with us all year. Wishing you the best in 2013. Cheers!
Merry Christmas! from here
in the northeast woodlands across the ocean, snow falling, knitting. That pom pom wreath will be on a door here next year, I predict! Peaceful blessings.
Kate, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, Tom and Bruce! Your pom, pom wreath is gorgeous. I had ordered and received your book. I love it (which I knew I would). The patterns are great as usual and I love the photographs and writing about your inspiration and the history.
Beautiful Wreath, on my list for next year. Thank you so much for all the inspiration you have shared with us this year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Merry Christmas Kate….and family. Love the wreath….I just bought Pom Pom makers,…..you have been an inspiration to me this year……but Pom Poms? Who would have thought?
Agreed! I received your lovely book for Christmas and a gorgeous package of Shetland yarn! Thank you Kate for giving us this wondeful gift. Merry Christmas.
Looking back at this I’m inspired to make a pom pom wreath this Xmas! How did you join them all into a wreath, are they on a back ground?
